Chakras

Chakras are energy centres located within your body.  There are seven primary chakras, or energy centres, located along the centre channel of the body (the spine).

While these seven chakras are the most recognizable of the chakra system within us, there are hundreds of these energy centres elsewhere in the body and around the body’s energy field. The seven chakras exist to facilitate a harmonious flow of energy within our bodies.

The seven primary chakras are ordered by colour and have associations with specific elements, symbols, gemstones and musical notes. When these chakras are working together in a healthy flow of energy, you should feel like the best version of yourself. Unobstructed chakras are associated with good health and well-being. However, when one or more of these energy centres are out of balance or blocked, this is when you might find yourself with emotional, mental or physical problems.

Singing bowls possess the ability to rebalance chakras as each energy centre has a “unique vibrational frequency.” These frequencies can interact with the vibrational frequencies that are created when playing a singing bowl. Like any musical instrument, the sound waves that are created when one plays a singing bowl interact with the unbalanced chakras enabling them to self-correct. Chakra balancing with singing bowls restores a “harmonious flow of energy” to the chakra system in a natural and calming way.

Singing bowls are said to balance and unblock these chakras, restoring balance within the body.

When the sound waves move through the atmosphere and touch us, it causes our cells to move in different directions at a different speed, in rhythm with the sound wave. This puts us in harmony with that sound wave. The sound penetrates into our very cells and rebalances them through oscillation and resonance. As a result, studies have shown that sound has a direct impact on the mental processes, muscles, nervous system, (heartbeat, pulse) digestive system and circulatory system. Alignment with the tones of the Crystal Bowls is one of the most dynamic forms of sound healing found today.

I find that sessions with clients are dramatically more effective with the use of crystal sound therapy. Clients immediately go into a state of full receptivity and relaxation. This allows me to go deeper and more easily reach underlying issues.

Reiki

Reiki has been around for thousands of years. Its current form was first developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist called Mikao Usui.  The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese words “rei” (universal) and “ki” (life energy). It means “universal life force energy.”

Reiki is a type of energy healing targeting the energy fields around the body and is commonly referred to as hands-on healing.  It is a simple and natural technique for stress reduction and relaxation that can also promote healing. It assists with balancing the flow of energy in the body to facilitate your natural ability to heal and increase a general sense of well-being.

Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness.  Reiki is often used to reduce anxiety, decrease pain, ease muscle tension, speed healing and relieve side effects of conventional treatments.

During a Reiki session hands are placed on or above the body which transfers energy to the client. During a treatment, many people feel warmth, tingling and a glowing radiance that flows on and around them. The treatments can be done on a massage table or seated in a chair. Clients remain fully clothed.
